How to play FELIDAE
The full rules of FELIDAE: the die, the five card types, happiness and the victory condition.
The principle
Two players minimum, a paper or bubble-gum board depending on your pack, and a 50-card deck each. The goal is not to defeat your opponent but to make your own cats happy: 100 happiness points, held for three turns.
The die sets the tempo
At the start of the round the game master — chosen by the players or drawn at random — rolls the die. The result sets how many cats must be made happy: one, two or three.
Drawing
- Five cards on the first turn, then one per turn.
- Until the required cats are in play, no action is possible.
- Your opponents, however, can already act on your cats.
The five card types
Feline: the cats to make happy. Terrain: changes the location for five turns. Object: a targeted positive effect. Action: positive and negative effects alike. Rival: the troublemaker.
When a cat drops to zero
A cat at 0 happiness goes inactive for three turns, then returns to its base happiness. Some Objects make it immune to negative effects for at least one turn.
Victory
The game ends when all of a player's cats reach 100 happiness points and hold them for three full turns. Expect 20 to 40 minutes for two players.
